I've been cosplaying Beatrix since 2003, but this is the first time I've cosplayed in quite a few years. In honor of attending my first convention since 2008, I decided to break out my favorite costume, and update it with some construction improvements and design elements that I've wanted to do for some time now.

This most recent facelift was inspired by Erutan's Rose of May cover. Not only is the song incredibly well done, but Kate featured my old costume in her video collage (seen around the 4:10 mark).

The Save the Queen sword is the same as before, and that was actually made as a surprise for me by Lionel back in 2006. I think it was my thank-you gift from him for carrying around the KOSMOS gatling guns at AX that year (though I was only too happy to do so anyway!) Lionel had taken some artistic liberties with the sword design that I ADORE, and I always felt that my old costume never measured up to the elegance of his work. This time around, I actually based some of the costume's personalized design elements (such as those on the belt) to better compliment the sword. I feel like the sword and the costume belong together now.

Curious, did you make it all yourself? I'm mostly interested in the Save the Queen, as that's been my favorite reoccurring sword. I would run around in FFT with a few of them slicing through for fun, and was definitely upset when Steiner couldn't use it in game after you stole it. :3

I made everything except the sword. A friend of mine made it for me back in 2006. Beatrix is the only one who can equip Save the Queen, but if you're REALLY heartbroken about not being able to use it, you can use a Game Shark to trick the game into letting you keep her permanently in your party :D

Yeah, I know. :P I was never THAT bent on doing it. Maybe part of the taboo was never being able to have it, and if I did I would have lost interest. Oh well, thanks!

At first I wasn't sure about the location when we were shooting, but as I saw the photos, I realized that they were quite fitting. My favorites are still the interior palace ones, which I'm still waiting from the photographer. Hopefully within the next few weeks! :)
